Tell us how you met and all about the proposal. Da'Shawn and I met online via a popular dating app. Da'Shawn proposed in Houston on Christmas Eve, abruptly following the traditional Sunday dinner prayer. It was perfectly intimate, just the two of us and my immediate family.
Describe your wedding attire. The bride selected a simple ivory gown with embellished cape, and the groom wore a wine and black tuxedo.
What was the wedding shopping experience like for you? The wedding shopping experience was overwhelming but I had an AMAZING wedding planner that held my hand the entire way. I could not have done it without her! My mother also flew to Charlotte for a few days to help me select the perfect dress.
Ceremony entrance song: "At Last" by Etta James

What is your best memory from your wedding? The best memory of our wedding day was seeing all of our family and friends, especially those that traveled great distances to witness our union. Sharing those sacred moments with all of the people that God has placed in your life, to walk alongside you in life's journey, is remarkable. We will always remember the amount of love and joy we felt on that day.
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples? Participate in pre-marital counseling! The time we spent with the pastor who officiated our wedding was invaluable. The questions presented in those sessions forced us to ask and answer the tough questions and ensure that we were on one accord prior to tying the knot.
