Providing a “glimpse inside the heart of a bride as she envisions three different looks for her reception,” Platinum Moods is a three collection styled shoot, showcasing a wide range of statement-making design styles. Featured in the Fall 2018 issue of MunaLuchi Bride Magazine, this styled shoot collection is in itself a catalogue of wedding design, from Ultra Violet, to White Knight, and Blushing Beauty. Featuring photography by MunaLuchi Coterie member Nana Annan, and gown design by MunaLuchi Coterie member Lillie Couture.

When I sat down to design my first styled shoot, I wanted to do something different. I wanted something that would make a statement, and truly showcase the design range of the work that Platinum By Stacyann produces.

I knew that my styled shoot would be a collection of several looks each capturing the “MOOD” of varying brides. I also knew what I designed had to have the Platinum signature. Our designs feature luxury furniture items, unique flatware, stemware and place setting pieces, juxtaposed with the soft, lushness of breathtaking floral arrangements and abundant warm candlelight.

I knew I wanted to work with colors, but also in contrast, work with the starkness of white. My design aesthetic is to mix and blend varying colors, textures, and styles to create a composition that is both fluid and rhythmic. For this shoot, I decided to showcase several design styles: contemporary romantic (purple), chic and modern (all white), and classic romantic (pinks).

The vision for the shoot surrounds a young couple who decide to share their lives. I think every woman can relate to what happens immediately after we become engaged to the man we love, we begin to envision and plan our big day. “Mood,” provides a glimpse inside the heart of a bride as she envisions three different looks for her reception.

Look # 1 Ultra Violet

This look was inspired by the “Celine Print” from Ceci Johnson of Ceci New York. Much like all of my sketches, it began with its name on large chart paper on my studio wall followed by days of quiet reflection. I knew I wanted this look to be a statement piece and for it to showcase design in a different and fresh way. When I envisioned it, I instantly thought of a “dark romance,” one that is passionate and filled with synergy. I wanted it to be reminiscent of the energy you feel with your first love and all the emotions that surrounds that first experience with your soul mate. The vibrancy and richness of the colors, and the lushness of the centerpieces anchored by the intricate designs on the place settings and charger plates, all featured on a winding glass serpentine table accented with blacks and golds, were used to create that over the top, opulent, dramatic look, which is ideal for the bride that wants a luxurious, extravagant event.

Look # 2 White Knight

This look was inspired by my love for all things serene and peaceful. I wanted a softer look for that bride that loves just a crisp, clean, luxurious look. The lushness of the white floral tunnel adorned with beautiful white orchids being reflected in the modern glass top tables that are filled with mirrored glass vases and combined with gold glass charger plates and beautiful gold and white napkins; this look is just that simple elegance that brides often seek.

Look # 3 Blushing Beauty

This look was inspired by every “girly girl,” out there, who loves pink and everything bling but who wants a romantic and intimate event. It incorporated chandelier candelabras, abundant candlelight, and lush low lying centerpieces in variations of pinks, anchored by the richness of the rose gold and crystal beading details found in the table, chairs, and lotus flower backdrop.
