Amie and Craig’s love story first began in New Orleans, at the House of Blues during the Essence Festival. Enjoying a girls’ night out, Amie was on the dance floor where she and Craig gravitated toward each other. The magnetism continued to grow from there, and wouldn’t be long before they were planning their first date. Their engagement session celebrates the timeless romance of their relationship, set within the vibrant grounds of the Versace Mansion in Miami, Florida – featuring planning by MunaLuchi Coterie member Events with Darrell.

How did you meet? We met during the Essence Festival in New Orleans in 2015 at The House of Blues New Orleans. I was there on a girls’ trip with my mother and friends. Craig (as DJ Hi C) was the opening DJ for Kid Kapri. We met on the dance floor thanks to an unknown gentleman who grabbed the both of us and told me to go with his cousin Craig! Tell us your proposal story. Craig was on set DJ’ing for Keyshia Cole. While Keyshia was in the middle of singing “Love” he stopped her. He said, “I’m in love too, Boss. Amie come here.” I was standing backstage in total shock! I walked out on stage and Craig got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes! Ugly cry and all!

Describe your engagement session. The engagement session was all our wedding planner, Darrell Colone’s idea! We wanted the shoot to be classic. So that our photos would be timeless.

What did you do on your first date? Craig called Amie to ask if she would like to hang out with him at work. She agreed. Amie drove down to Houston to see Craig in action. She didn’t know that Craig was the DJ she was jamming to at the Essence Festival so she had to hear for herself. Partied with him until the club closed then drove back to Austin for work at 7:30am.

What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple? We enjoy working on our YouTube together (The Cool AC Channel), spending time with our family and giving thanks to our Savior!

How has wedding planning been so far? With our wedding planner? Planning have been a mixing pot of grand ideas, exciting and fun!

Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day. Personally I look forward to Craig seeing his new life beginning as I approach him. Craig is looking forward to marrying the woman God prepared for him.
