Mylika and David’s Beautiful Silver and Ivory Wedding in Atlanta

Mylika and David's love story began as co-workers. It would be David's "strong and fixed stare" that first captured her attention and drew her near. That fateful day would change their lives forever, guiding them to eventually meet down the aisle on February 18th where they would become husband and wife in a beautiful silver and ivory wedding.

Tell us how you met and all about the proposal. We used to work for the same employer. When he first saw me he walked up to me with this strong and fixed stare in his eyes and so began our conversations. He's funny, loving, selfless and that's what I love about him. He proposed over dinner at the Sun Dial, he told me how much he loves me, how much his life has changed because of me, and he would love to spend the rest of his life with me...

What was wedding shopping like for you? It was both exciting and exhausting. I was looking for something sexy, sheer, and tasteful. I found the perfect dress at bridals by lori by designer Eve of Milady. That was the 5th shop I visited.

Did you incorporate any culture into your wedding? Yes. We wanted to include our African heritage and my husbands Mexican heritage. This was evident in the music, readings, and rituals we practiced during the ceremony.

Bridesmaids/Groomsmen gifts: Amazon Echo (both brides and groomsmen), necklace and earrings (bridesmaids), champagne (Groomsmen)
Favorite item on the menu: Cake
First dance song: Eric Benet and Tamia's "Spend my Life with You."

What is your best memory from your wedding? The special dance the guys did for us, "Can you stand the rain."

What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples? Listen without waiting to respond and communicate your feelings and thoughts.
