Summer Chapel Wedding in Winston Salem, NC: Ryen + Wil

The moment the chapel doors opened, Ryen locked eyes with her groom, Wil and tears filled her eyes. With Ryen's maid of honor sister by her side and surrounded by family and friends, Ryen and Wil exchanged vows on a beautiful, sunny, summer day in Winston Salem, NC following an exciting birthday proposal.

Wedding Date: July 25, 2015
Wedding Location: Wait Chapel and The Millennium Event Center in Winston Salem, NC
First Dance Song: "Make Me Better" by Fabolous and "A Couple of Forevers" by Chrisette Michelle
Favorite Item on the Menu: We had shrimp and grits in a martini glass served as the appetizer. It was amazing!

Tell us about how you met and all about the proposal!

Wil proposed on my 30th birthday in the middle of a park that was complete with a horse & carriage, private chef, and a singer. He definitely took some time to plan it. It was perfect!

Wedding Style

My dress was mermaid style with beading, sequins, and organza. I wanted it to be fabulous but because I’m so petite, I didn’t want the dress to overwhelm me. Wedding dress shopping was easy for me because I knew exactly what I wanted. My sister who was my maid of honor came with me to my appointments and I finally found the one after about the third store.

Locking eyes for the first time when the doors to the church opened was my favorite memory. The waterworks came! Another favorite memory was the father daughter dance. My father rocked the dance floor with a routine we practiced two months before the wedding.
