Bettina and Jean’s love story began in church, where Jean first laid eyes on his future bride. It was love at first sight for Jean, as he watched Bettina converse with his siblings. Wanting to know more about her, he reached out on social media where their initial conversations began. From there it wasn’t long before the soulmates were planning the rest of their lives together. Jean knew Bettina was “the one” because “ever since we met sheʼs made my life better, and I soon realized I could not live without her. “

Bride & Groom: Bettina & Jean
Wedding date: 09/29/2018
Wedding location: Bride of Christ Tabernacle
Tell us how you met. We met when I visited Bettina’s church when my father went to preach, that day I just stared at her and did not say a word, watching her talk to my siblings, laughing… A few days later I could not stop thinking about her, so when my sister refused to give me her contacts, I went on her page on Facebook and found her from her friend list, well the rest is history…
Tell us about the proposal. On December 16th 2017, surrounded by our families at her dinner table, I asked Bettina if she would continue to make me the happiest man on earth as my wife – she said Yes! Later that night, we celebrated with our close friends and family.
How did you know they were “the one”? I knew Bettina was the one because ever since we met sheʼs made my life better, and I soon realized I could not live without her.
What was wedding shopping like for you? Bettina: “I always knew I wanted two dresses and the styles of each dress I wanted. When I walked into the bridal store my ceremony dress was on display in front of the store and I knew right away that I wanted it and for the reception dress I already had a picture of how I wanted it to look in my phone so after trying on three similar dresses I decided to go with the style that had a bow, simply because I knew Jean would like the one with the bow best.”
Jean: “I knew the exact tux I wanted. I went to one fitting and purchased my suit, came back to pick it up a few weeks later. Very easy process for me.”
What is your best memory from your wedding? Jean: “My best memory was during the exchange of the vows. It was the moment I realized that everything I prayed for and dreamed about was actually coming true.”
Bettina: “My best memory was during our first dance. It was the first time all day I had a second to just breathe and take in what was happening. I realized, yes this happened, I am Mrs Laroche!”
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples? Take pictures of every step, the whole way through, because at the end of the day youʼre left with all the wonderful memories, and having the pictures makes everything so much more fresh.
