Modern Glam Engagement Session in Atlanta: Monet + Roderick

Love was encouraged by eggnog and mistletoe the night Monet and Roderick met. It was a Sunday afternoon in December of 2009 when the pair hit it off at a Christmas party. Developing a friendship first, they spent hours talking on the phone, reminiscent of a teenage love affair. But there was nothing amateur about what they’d been developing. “It’s amazing how love will find you, totally captivate you and transform you all in the blink of an eye. Who knew that between us we would create a love so substantial that it would challenge us to become better people to each other and to ourselves,” Monet shares.

The couple executed a modern glam engagement session. Finding their amazing photographer, Jack Manning of Jaxon Photogroup, on Instagram, they fused their love, style, and his creativity for a truly stunning e-session. Filled with chic and edgy black looks and gravity defying poses, this engagement session is starting 2016 off on a high-note!

Tell us all about the proposal!
While visiting Las Vegas, NV Roderick and Monet took a day trip to the West Rim of the Grand Canyon. After walking around to sightsee for awhile, Monet suggested that they sit on a rock to simply absorb the beautiful scenery. Once seated on the rock, Roderick jokingly said, “Hey speaking of rocks, I’ve got a rock” and as Monet turned around in his hand was the most beautiful diamond ring.

What did you do on your first date?
We had a very modest first date. We went to Ruby Tuesdays. Lol!

What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple?
Go to the movies on a Friday night and we absolutely love to drink hot tea.

How has wedding planning been so far?
Amazing. As an event planner it’s naturally my passion to enjoy this process but having full creative control has been liberating in more ways than one. This is truly a dream come true and I get a chance to execute all of my ideas and watch them come to life. I have my moments of frustration but with the wedding being another 8 months out I have the opportunity to take a break from whatever the challenge may be then revisit it a few weeks later and overcome it.

Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day.
I am looking forward to sharing the moment with friends and family. I can’t wait to say my vows and have the most important people in my life be a part of it.
