In a stunning vintage engagement session, photographer Troy Sawyer captures the undeniable chemistry between Tevin & Zoi.
The soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. Reese are both alumni from the same college, but had lost touch after a while. Once again in the same state, Tevin made sure to reach out to Zoi by asking her out, where they would successfully rekindle and discover a chemistry that would keep them inseparable. From there, sparks flew, and the pair knew that they would be on course to a permanent union of forever.
As their undeniable love continued to grow, they shared many travels, and soon Tevin and Zoi decided to travel to Greece for her birthday. While celebrating this special day abroad, Tevin had a special surprise under wraps for Zoi! On one of their nights on the island of Santorini, she was led to her future husband’s sunset proposal overlooking the rich blue bay. When Tevin proposed on bended knee, Zoi said yes, and now they are planning their dream wedding together!
To commemorate their engagement, this couple went with a photo session inspired by a sophisticated and vintage take on classic retro. With Tevin in a clever charcoal tuxedo and Zoi in a bright white dress, they held hands and smiled in the camera, preparing for a life of forever.

How did you meet?
We went to college together and knew each other. Once Tevin moved down to Atlanta, he reached out via social media to see if I wanted to grab drinks. I met up with him and we’ve been inseparable since!
Tell us your proposal story:
We went to Greece for my birthday with two of our friends. It was our friends’ last night in Santorini, and they were going to head back to Atlanta the next morning, and we were going to 2 more islands in Greece to continue my birthday trip. My best friend said we should all dress up and have one last dinner to celebrate my birthday and their leaving. So we all got dressed up, and a car came and picked us up from our Airbnb.
We got to the location and this lady (I assumed she worked for the restaurant) blind folded me and all of a sudden John Legend started playing. I remember thinking, “Oh, this restaurant is lit!” I took off the blind fold and there he was on one knee with the sun setting behind us overlooking the Caldera in Santorini.
When did you know you found “the one”?
Zoi: I knew he was the one on our 3rd date. It was so thoughtful and romantic and truly still my favorite date of ours.
Tevin: I knew she was the one on our 3rd date when we went flower picking. Clearly, we both loved that date, and it really solidified our place in each other’s lives.
Describe your engagement session. Did you have a theme?
Our engagement session was vintage-inspired for sure! We knew we wanted to have a modern but classic look, and we definitely wanted to have a vintage car. Ironically, the car’s license plate said “Tev” and it was a Mustang, which is exactly what Tevin drives!
What did you do on your first date?
On our first date, we went to Cirque in Atlanta and had a few drinks while we talked and got to know one another.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple?
We both really enjoy traveling, but also seeing the world and having that experience together.
How has wedding planning been so far?
Wedding planning is a bit overwhelming, and we still have quite a few things we need to do, but it’s coming along, and I can’t wait to see the final result!
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day.
We are both looking forward to officially becoming one before God and our loved ones! We also can’t wait to celebrate the next phase of our life together, partying!
