Every girl has a best friend, a boyfriend and a true love – but she’s lucky if they can all be rolled up into one. Well, consider Melissa one of the lucky ones. Melissa and Blake met through mutual friends 6 years ago. After building a casual friendship, the pair found themselves transitioning from friends to lovers – developing their relationship 5 years ago. Similar to the spontaneity of love, Blake surprised Melissa on November, 22 2014 with a spontaneous, yet intimate proposal at home.
In celebration of their nuptials, Melissa & Blake shot this fun and flirty engagement session in New Jersey with coterie member, Rando Lawrence of WeddingPix. Likewise, the couple are also working with fellow coterie member, Emma Pierre-Louis of Prestige Affair Events Production to handle their fabulous wedding planning.

Describe your engagement session. Did you have a theme?
Melissa: We both love football and are fans of rival football teams (Giants/Cowboys). We wanted to show that we can be every image of a perfect couple. We can have fun, be cute and flirty as well as refined and poised.
What did you do on your first date?
We went out to eat at a local restaurant and then sat in front of his apartment in my car and talked so long that the battery died on my car and he had to give me a jump!
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple?
We love to travel and eat at small local mom and pop restaurants. The quaint and low key restaurants that people normally overlook.
How has wedding planning been so far?
With the help of our wedding planner Emma, it has been an awesome experience.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day.
We’re looking for the moment when we can say “I do” and all the stress that we thought was so big seems like a mole hill.
