Learn five things about MunaLuchi Coterie member and Makeup Artist Thalia Robinson in this Sunday Spotlight!
1. I am originally a Florida born native who was raised in the Turks and Caicos Islands since the age of 2 months through 17 years old. At 17, I then returned to Florida and have resided here ever since. My parents and grandparents, however, are Jamaican – hence why I proudly identify with both and have been loyal to the name ‘Island Gal Lia’. My roots mean a lot to me and have contributed greatly to the person I am today.

2. Prior to my career in makeup, I was a professionally trained ballerina who had been awarded a scholarship to the Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet during that time. Later in my premature adult years, I then moved on to a different type of ‘Art’ – Stand up comedy which I had been booked for gigs both internationally and locally.

3. I’m far from your average professional makeup artist. Through makeup, I’ve found that this is my ministry. In whatever any of us pursue, the greatest gift we can leave with a person that we encounter is the ability to make them FEEL. Feel amazing, feel heard, feel cared for and that they matter. I truly am passionate about people and I believe it shows in my work.

4. Aside from my local business here in South Florida, I’m also a traveling artist that has had the opportunity to be a vendor for destination weddings held in the Dominican Republic, Turks and Caicos Islands, Jamaica, Washington DC, and New York. I love to travel and see more of the world while doing what I love and making people happy. How can you beat that!?

5. For the longest period, I had no clue what I wanted to do with my life. Then God placed makeup in my hands and for once in my life, I feel like I’ve found my purpose and calling. 5 years later, a full-time makeup artist and I would never trade this feeling of touching lives through each brush stroke, for the world.
