Every ring tells a story. The shape of the stone, the warmth of the metal, the setting that catches light in just the right way. These choices are rarely random. They are deeply personal, quietly revealing, and for many women, thought about long before a proposal ever arrives.
At Munaluchi Bride, we have always believed that multicultural brides deserve to see themselves reflected in bridal content: their tastes, their priorities, and their vision of what love looks like when it is worn on the hand. That is why we created The Modern Engagement Ring Report: a survey designed to capture engagement ring preferences of today’s brides, not what the industry has long assumed.
Whether you are engaged, married, or simply a woman who has a very clear opinion about oval cuts versus emerald cuts (no judgment), your perspective matters here.
Why we built this survey
The engagement ring industry has operated on certain assumptions for decades. The round brilliant diamond. The three-month salary rule. The solitaire as the universal default. But spend any time in the Muna community and you will quickly learn that our readers are anything but default.
We see brides choosing bold colored gemstones with intention. We see couples who research lab-grown diamonds with the same rigor they bring to every other major life decision. We see women who know exactly what they want and women who never thought about it until the moment felt right. All of that deserves to be documented.
The data gathered from this survey will directly shape our upcoming editorial features and the way our partner brands speak to you. Your voice will be part of how we evolve the conversation around modern bridal jewelry.
What the survey covers
The Modern Engagement Ring Report takes about five minutes to complete and moves through five areas:
About you. A few quick details about your relationship status and where you are in your journey.
Style and aesthetic. Your preferred stone shapes, metal tones, setting styles, and overall ring personality. Are you drawn to classic and timeless, or does a bold, statement-making design feel more like you?
The stone. Natural diamond or lab-grown? Sapphire, ruby, or emerald? What carat size feels right, and which quality factor matters most?
The experience. Have you shared your ring preferences with your partner? Would you want to be involved in the final design, or do you prefer the magic of a complete surprise?
Budget and perception. What do you consider a reasonable investment for an engagement ring, and where do you stand on the longstanding “three months’ salary” convention?
Your answers shape what we create
This is not a survey that disappears into a folder. The results will inform real editorial content on Munaluchi Bride and guide conversations with our jewelry partners about what multicultural brides actually want to see, read, and shop.
We will share findings from the report in a dedicated feature here on Munaluchi Bride, so stay close.
