On the evening of February 25th, the grandeur of The Rittenhouse Hotel in Philadelphia set the stage for an intimate evening defined by quiet luxury. The Muna Edit Philadelphia unfolded in a room bathed in candlelight, where sculptural florals met the soft flicker of gold and the low hum of conversation. Live music by EBE Talent carried through the space, grounding the evening in something both sensual and understated.
Guests arrived with intention. Each look felt considered and styled to mirror the mood of the night. Silhouettes, textures, and tones moved in conversation with the setting itself.

An Evening Designed with Intention
The aesthetic of the evening was deliberate and layered. Candlelight anchored the room in a golden warmth while lush floral arrangements lent an elevated, almost dreamlike quality to the space. The Rittenhouse Hotel, long a landmark of Philadelphia’s most refined hospitality, provided a backdrop that felt both intimate and grand. This dinner was a curated experience where every detail, from the table settings to the fragrance in the air, was considered.

A Menu That Honored Both Tradition and Artistry
The culinary experience for the evening unfolded as a collaboration between Josh Painter of The Rittenhouse Hotel and guest chef RJ Smith of Ocho Supper Club. Two distinct culinary perspectives, in conversation.
The first course opened with two expressions of coastal influence. The Rittenhouse presented braised Spanish octopus accompanied by vadouvan emulsion, agrodolce, and Marcona almond, a composition as visually striking as it was nuanced on the palate. Ocho Supper Club answered with kanpachi aguachile, bright and electric, built from citrus aguachile, pickled Scotch bonnet, and ginger confit. Bright. Direct. Unapologetically vibrant.
The second course turned toward deeper, more layered profiles. The Rittenhouse offered steamed halibut resting in a lemongrass and parsnip velouté, a dish of quiet elegance. Chef Smith responded with jerk spiced duck served alongside golden carrot, arroz gandules, and scallion, bringing warmth and depth that felt both rooted and inventive.

A Dessert Reception Worth Lingering Over
Dessert extended the experience rather than closing it. The evening continued into a dessert reception that showcased the artistry of both kitchens. The Rittenhouse contributed almond frangipane and strawberry mousse tarts, chamomile white chocolate mousse with blueberry, lemon meringue eclairs, and a chocolate ganache cake with milk chocolate cremeux. Ocho Supper Club closed the dessert offering with sour mango pâte de fruit finished with housemade curry powder, a final note that was as unexpected as it was memorable.

Scent, Sound, and the Art of Lingering
Long after dinner concluded, guests were invited into a custom perfume bar experience curated by Cabernet Candles, where bespoke fragrances became a keepsake of the evening. Throughout the night, the music of EBE Talent provided a seamless, sensory thread that held the room together, each arrangement drawing guests further into the intimacy of the occasion. The room never rushed. It lingered.

The Muna Edit: Philadelphia
The Muna Edit Philadelphia was a reminder that the most meaningful gatherings are built from intentional details, from the first course to the final note. It was an evening of artistry, connection, and refined hospitality, precisely the spirit that defines everything Muna stands for.
