For “A Davis Affair”, Shervanna Roye, Principal Designer and Creative Director of STYLISH Luxury Wedding & Event Designers, created a coastal Bahamian wedding inspiration shoot that reimagines the destination wedding through a distinctly Bahamian lens. Her guiding idea was that luxury lives in intentionality, thoughtful hospitality, and a genuine sense of place. Every choice, from the first welcome to the final toast, was built around it.

Roye kept the palette deliberately spare. The ocean, the architecture, and the luminous midday light complete the composition.
Bridal fashion and beauty with a modern hand
The bride wears a contemporary gown by The Wright Dress: a strapless sweetheart corset in sheer lace, a full tulle skirt scattered with floral appliqué, and a high front slit that brings movement to every step. A long, classic veil, sleek middle-parted hair by Almeda Patricia, and refined, sculpted makeup by Yeisha Forbes Beauty keep the look clean and modern. A white paper parasol adds shade and a graceful styling note in the afternoon sun.
The groom’s tailored navy suit, worn with an open-collar white shirt and dark sunglasses, introduces the single note of contrast against the whites and coastal blues.
From sunlit ceremony to candlelit reception
As the celebration moves into evening, the design grows warmer and more intimate. Roye describes a reception shaped by candlelight, layered tablescapes, and lush florals. Custom stationery, a bespoke bar, and a sculptural cake from Take A Bite Bahamas complete the story, while live saxophone by St.Claire carries the celebration into the night.

“I wanted to reimagine the destination wedding experience through a distinctly Bahamian lens. The concept was rooted in the idea that luxury isn’t simply about extravagance; it’s about intentionality, thoughtful hospitality and creating a genuine sense of place.
We designed the experience to unfold from the moment guests arrived. Personalized coconuts created by Coconut Stock Bahamas and handcrafted cocktails offered an immediate connection to the islands before guests transitioned to a modern ceremony framed by the turquoise Caribbean Sea. The transparent floral structure, soft white blooms and crisp white aisle were intentionally restrained, allowing the ocean, architecture and natural light to become part of the design rather than something we competed against.
Fashion and beauty were also important to the visual story. The bride’s contemporary gown, classic veil, effortless hair and refined makeup complemented the clean, modern aesthetic, while the groom’s tailored navy suit introduced subtle contrast against the palette of whites, soft neutrals and coastal blues. As the celebration transitioned into the reception, the atmosphere became warmer and more intimate through candlelight, layered tablescapes, lush florals and carefully curated details, including the stationery, custom bar and sculptural cake.
Ultimately, I wanted A Davis Affair to demonstrate that a destination wedding in The Bahamas can feel internationally sophisticated while still being unmistakably Bahamian—bringing together elevated design and the gracious hospitality for which our islands are known.”
