Emmanuelle and Alex, from Calgary, AB, Canada took to the sunny coast of Costa Rica for a very intimate destination wedding with their closest family and friends. Staying at Villa Hermosas, the lovely couple exchanged vows in the winter, just a few days before Valentine’s Day.

Emmanuelle and Alex along with all of their guests stayed at Villa Hermosas in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica, which is located right on the beach and surrounded by palm trees, making this the picture perfect backdrop for the big day.
Keeping with the intimate theme, the couple decided on a small bridal party. Emmanuelle shimmered in her absolutely stunning dress and custom made earrings, and opted for no veil, instead highlighting her hair with a few simple and absolutely beautiful local flowers. Alex was color coordinated for this colorful, diverse ocean side wedding, pulling the entire look together perfectly.
After being announced as Mr. and Mrs. Popa, guests celebrated with a bubble party as the newly married couple walked down the aisle for the first time as one. Setting out on an isolated path near the ocean, Emmanuelle and Alex took in the beauty of the exotic destination of Costa Rica and had a moment to reflect on the beauty to come in their own marriage, ’til death do them part.
The couple incorporated many simple items from Costa Rica into their big day, making it more than just a setting. For instance, the table numbers were shells with writing on the inside portion. Signs for “welcome” and “ceremony” were written on driftwood from the beach. The ceremony arch was made from bamboo, which is readily available in Costa Rica. Lasting well into the night, Emmanuelle and Alex celebrated their union in paradise long after the sun set, making for some of the most beautiful shots of the entire day. So beautiful.
