From follows to DMs, Ashley and Terence’s relationship began as an Instagram union that evolved from double taps to romantic lunches. Their very first date was an endless dive into each other as they connected while holding hands walking through the city; daring not to part from one another.

These two became inseparable being together just about every single day. Then, just before the peak of the holidays, in the calm intimacy of Terence’s childhood backyard, Ashley was in for quite a memorable surprise. Surrounded by only their parents and grandmothers, Terence asked for Ashley to be his forever and she said YES.

Next, in both the timeless complement of black tie and prestige gold as well as the rebirthing of all white, this future Mr. and Mrs. wowed the camera with a blissful engagement session. Along the soothing coast of Playa Paraiso, Mexico, Diptych Studio captured stunning photos of the newly engaged couple on the beaches and backdrop of paradise at the luxurious Villa La Joya Resort.

Not a twosome to waste another moment, this newly engaged duo is set to tie the knot just five months after their engagement! With a theme of Black Excellence and most likely a gourmet spread of their favorite Indian foods, just like their engagement session, their wedding is set to be nothing less of pure opulence and decadence!

How did you two meet?

We actually met through Instagram! Who would’ve thought a simple follow would lead to forever?

Tell us about the proposal:

On December 17th, 2023, I thought we were going to take Christmas pictures with a photographer at his parent’s house. Our proposal was truly intimate and special. Terence proposed in his parent’s backyard, with just the two of us, our parents, and grandmothers present. It was such a meaningful and personal moment, surrounded by the people who mean the most to us — a memory we’ll cherish forever.

When did you know that you found “the one”?

I knew from our very first date. We opened up about the most intimate details of our lives like we’d known each other for years. As time went on, it was like we craved being around each other — we were together almost every day. It just felt right!

Describe your engagement session:

Our engagement photoshoot embodied Black Excellence and took place at the stunning Villa La Joya in Mexico, offering a blend of timeless elegance and breathtaking coastal views. The session was filled with romantic moments, capturing the essence of our love story against the villa’s classic architecture and tropical surroundings. The serene beachfront, lush gardens, and intricate stone details provided the perfect backdrop, creating an unforgettable setting for our engagement pictures.

What did you do on your first date?

We met up at a restaurant in Nashville called City Fire, which is now a sports bar. After lunch, we took a daytime stroll through downtown Nashville, sharing our life stories and really connecting. It was a simple day, but it felt like the start of something special.

What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple?

We love to go bowling, travel, and eat our favorite food which is Indian.

How has wedding planning been so far?

Wedding planning has been going really well! It’s been a beautiful journey bringing our vision to life, and we’re enjoying every moment of it. There have been a lot of moving parts, but with the support of our loved ones and some incredible vendors, everything is coming together perfectly. We’re just excited to see it all unfold on the big day!

When we took our photos, that was the trip where we met our planners in person and got to do our cake tasting and food tasting, which was super exciting!

Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day.

We’re most excited to finally say ‘I do’ and officially start this new chapter of our lives together. Plus, we can’t wait to celebrate with all our loved ones, dancing the night away and soaking in every moment of the day we’ve been dreaming about!
