From the breathtaking views of the Schilthorn summit in the Swiss Alps to the magnificent Glamis Sand Dunes in California, this nature loving couple proves that their love story is one incredible adventure that will last a lifetime.
This stunning desert engagement session featured the outdoor romanticism and seduction of the desert which drew us into every single frame. Because of their affection for the area, having their engagement session in the dunes was the obvious choice. Jade and Maxine share, “Our favorite camping trips are in the desert so we thought Glamis would be the perfect location!” The couple flawlessly attired in all black gave us the ultimate dramatic mood and allowed us to see that just being in nature together is their favorite thing to do as a couple.
With the majestic Swiss Alps as the backdrop, and with his father and brother helping with his thrilling and secretive plans, Jade popped the question to Maxine while they were all on a motorcycle trip through the Swiss Alps. Tell us your proposal story
To start, I was dating Maxine for four years and was friends with her for two years longer than that. Our friendship and romantic relationship have always been out of this world and I knew that when I was going to ask her to be my wife, it had to be out of this world too. I thought about this for over a year debating on how to “pop the question”. Finally, while talking with my dad about a Europe trip through the Swiss Alps on motorcycles I found my answer. I made plans with my father and my uncle (who were also on the motorcycle trip) on the where and how to execute this plan without fail. The day of, I took Maxine up the gondolas to the top of Schilthorn, 9,744 foot summit with a 360 degree glacier view of Switzerland and found a small goat trail leading out away from all the tourists to a tiny flat spot completely private. As Maxine was turned around looking at the magnificent view, I quickly reached into my pocket and pulled out the box with the ring, got on one knee and waited for what seemed like an eternity for her to turn around. I had so many thoughts and ideas of what to say to her, and just how amazing of a human being she is, and how I was going to win her heart over for good. She finally turned around and looked at me and at that exact moment my mind went blank and I froze up like a kid in middle school trying to talk to the prettiest girl I had ever seen. Thankfully I managed to squeeze the words out “Will you marry me?” before my entire brain shut down and she accepted my offer of engagement. After a moment of solitude with my new fiance, we climbed back up to the top area where we met up with my father, uncle, and friends to celebrate. My uncle who had been carrying an entire bottle of champagne and toasting glasses up the mountain quickly pulled out the goods and we popped bubbly, toasted to new love and old, and enjoyed the wonderful moment at the top of the world.
