Before they say “I Do,” Jodae and Thomas celebrated their love with a romantic engagement session at the Atlanta White House in Atlanta, GA.
The pair first crossed paths when Thomas approached Jodae at the gym. Though Jodae admits she wasn’t actively looking for love, her interest in Thomas was undeniable. “Our connection was instant, sparking conversations that lasted for hours each night,” she recalls. “From that moment, we were inseparable.”
Thomas popped the question on an intimate getaway to Egypt. Under the impression that the trip was solely for her birthday, Jodae was shocked when Thomas got down on one knee and proposed under the gaze of the Pyramids.
“It was pure magic, a memory I wish I could relive endlessly,” Jodae says.
Now, the couple is excitedly preparing for their May nuptials. Planned by Muna Coterie member Patrice Dehaney of Lux Event Design, the wedding will take place in Jamaica’s beautiful Montego Bay. Before their big day, the couple celebrated their love with a romantic engagement session at the stunning Atlanta White House in Georgia.

How did you meet?
It was a perfect day that marked the start of our journey together. We met at a time in my life when I was focused on myself, not actively seeking romance. But there he was, a true gentleman, approaching me at the gym while I was on the Smith machine. Our connection was instant, sparking conversations that lasted for hours each night. From that moment, we were inseparable.
Tell us about the proposal.
For the proposal, he created a dream I’ll never forget. He flew me to Egypt, planning everything to perfection, and on my birthday, he led me to a rooftop for what I thought was a simple birthday photoshoot. Then, with a gentle blindfold, he revealed himself on one knee. Doves took flight, and sparklers lit up the evening, and in that breathtaking moment, he asked me to be his forever. It was pure magic, a memory I wish I could relive endlessly.
Describe your engagement session.
It was the perfect day—sunlit and serene, with not a raindrop in sight. The venue appeared even more breathtaking in person, transforming into a haven just for us as we celebrated our love. Every glance, every touch felt like stepping back to the first moment we met, when he introduced himself at the gym and everything began.
Our photographer guided us effortlessly, helping us express our connection in every frame. The way my fiancé looked at me was nothing short of magical, like he was seeing me for the very first time. To this day, people still compliment our photos, each one a cherished memory of a day we’ll never forget.
What did you do on your first date?
Our first date unfolded at a romantic restaurant, where we shared everything about ourselves, never growing weary of each other’s words. Conversation flowed effortlessly, as if we’d known each other forever, leaving us captivated and wanting more with each passing moment.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple?
Our favorite pastime as a couple brings us back to where it all began—the gym. While I secretly dread working out with him, he has an incredible way of pushing me to become my best self, motivating me beyond what I thought possible.
How has wedding planning been so far?
Wedding planning has been both an exciting and challenging journey. Thankfully, my incredible planners have made the process so much smoother, lifting the weight off my shoulders and allowing me to truly enjoy this special time.
What are you looking forward to most on the wedding day?
I’m eagerly anticipating the ceremony, the beautifully curated décor, and watching every detail unfold into the vision we’ve dreamed of.
