New York City
Metropolitan Opera and Carnegie Hall are obvious New York City choices whether it’s Opera Day or not, especially if you’re looking to see and hear Tony Award winners and world renowned opera artists but one must also not forget Brooklyn Academy of Music which is set to host a handful of shows this season including Les Fêtes Vénitiennes and The Astronaut’s Tale.

It’s debatable if Roméo et Juliette is indeed a romance worth celebrating but if you think it is, Santa Fe Opera will be home to this performance among a number of others this season.

Houston Grand Opera is often overlooked which is a shame because it delivers some of the most moving stories with some of the most engaging talent in the country. The Marriage of Figaro just wrapped production and if this title is any indication of what you can expect in the future, only good things are ahead.

Please note that opera performances begin on time and do not admit latecomers until intermission. Remember to dress the part and leave behind your covering at coat check.
