There are styled shoots, and then there’s this! We had the pleasure of featuring this Ashanti-inspired editorial shoot in the current Spring 2018 issue (which just hit over 180,000 views!). The inspiration from the shoot came from the Ashanti – a major ethnic group in Ghana. From the table decor, to the stationery details to the couture fashion, all elements of Ghanaian culture were brought together seamlessly. “When Wedding Planning and Design team ILE Events thought of this shoot they wanted to ensure a level of authenticity of the culture with a modern twist. The African styled shoot is inspired by the Ashanti Tribe and we used elements to tell the story of their environments (tropical flowers & greenery), cultures (use of round pedestals to represent the Royal & Divine Throne Ashanti-Twi: Sika ‘dwa), and traditional wedding fashions. Bright colors and vibrant lights creat[ed] the vibe of joy through the photos. The ceremonial hand fasting brought a modern use for the Kente cloth, binding the couple together.” ILÉ EVENTS
