I’m not sure about you but I have been counting the days until the premiere of BET’s new scripted show, “Reed Between the Lines.” It had my attention the moment I realized that the ever-gorgeous and super-talented, Tracee Ellis Ross, would play a leading role as “the Reed wife”, Dr. Carla Reed. I got even more excited when I found out that she would be starring next to none other than the Cosby Show’s Theo Huxtable. *Gasp* Malcolm-JamalWarner is returning to television as Carla’s husband, Dr. Alex Reed.
What really put the icing on the cake for me and literally blew me away was the realization that this is a scripted show that features something that is unfortunately portrayed so rarely on television these days: people of color in a great marriage with a happy family, great educations and amazing careers (Carla is a successful therapist and Alex is an NYU Professor). I am over the moon about this and am very hopeful that this show will be successful.
