Channing & Robert’s love story first began as co-workers, when while working for the same education based non-profit, Channing was assigned as Robert’s mentor. They soon became close friends with feelings of something much more always growing beneath the surface. How did you meet? Channing and Robert met at work. Robert started after Channing in the same Project Manager role for a education based non-profit and she was assigned as his mentor. They remained friends and their friendship grew into a romantic one after he relocated.
Tell us your proposal story. Robert decided to take Channing to the restaurant where they had their first official date. Little did Channing know but it was after their first date that Robert decided that he would one day marry her. Less that one year later at the same restaurant, Moxie, Robert totally surprised Channing by getting on one knee and asking her to marry him. As the restaurant patrons all took out their phones to capture the moment, Channing was stunned silent and had to be prompted to say “yes.” Robert presented Channing with a beautiful rose gold custom made diamond engagement ring that warmed her heart because rose gold is her favorite color.
What did you do on your first date? Went to dinner at Moxie.
What is your favorite thing to do as a couple? We love to travel and try new restaurants.
How has wedding planning been so far? Things are going well. We are both involved and enjoying the process. However, my mother is very clear that it will be our marriage, but this is “her” wedding.
What are you looking forward to the most? Walking down the aisle and seeing his reaction when he sees me in my dress.
