The inspiration for this shoot came from the love of big city glamour combined with the boldness of deep gem tones in amethyst, pink, sapphire blue, and orange tourmaline. Ideal for the modern couple not afraid to make a statement by mixing colors, textures, metals, and gems. Gems are rare and unique, just like true love. A timeless and historic building that has welcomed guests for nearly a century. Characterized by its elegance, The Mayflower Hotel is a Landmark in the capital. The Palm Court Ballroom that once served as a place for visitors to enjoy tea was the perfect spot for this shoot. With high ceilings and a magnificent chandelier, this room added just the right amount of sophistication and glamour.
For the table setting, we wanted flowers to play a central part in telling the story. We incorporated classic garden roses in various tones like hot pink, blush, orange & purple, coupled with other beautiful foliage to provide movement. Smaller pieces in crystal and golden vases spread along the table, creating a lavish scene. Multiple colored taper candles were added to provide a romantic mood and a contrasting element. Gold rimmed crystal glass plating and stemware, navy silk napkins, and violet lux chairs were the perfect complement for this shoot. Oh, and let us not forget the beautiful marble table linen that helped to pull this amazing look together.
Raw gems inspired the stationery and cake design as well, combining those same gem tones and gold accents to complete the City Gems look.
