On Sunday, December 4th, 2022, speakers presenting at this year’s Coterie Retreat were transported to the luxurious Sandals Montego Bay, Jamaica for a pre-conference VIP Dinner Under the Stars.

Arriving from Coterie Retreat 2022 Headquarters at Half Moon to Sandals Montego Bay, Marsha-Ann Donaldson-Brown’s opening words at this year’s Coterie Retreat Speakers’ VIP Dinner couldn’t be more true.
The Sandals Montego Bay pre-conference event was a flawless evening under the stars. Filled with good conversation, great food, and gorgeous decor, it was the perfect prelude to an exciting 3-day retreat!

Esteemed speakers were first greeted by a rhapsody of drums performed by Children of the Drums. Then they were offered fresh coconuts carved on the spot by Lindsey of Have a Jelly and served throughout the evening by exceptionally friendly and attentive Sandals staff.

A special performance…
The Montego Bay High School for Girls Junior Choir officially opened cocktail hour singing uplifting songs adding to the essence of love with guests swaying to the beat and mingling over cocktails.
Rustic, tropical, glam…
Moving from cocktail hour to dinner under the stars, guests were in awe of the space.
Illumined by romantic candles and framed by palm trees, the courtyard was transformed with rustic tropical-glam decor including long wooden tables laden with beige linens accented by colorful floral centerpieces created by Tai Flora Luxe, intricate place settings by Drift Home JA, and elegant stationery made by B Design House. The cocktail hour and dinner were planned and designed by Sandals Resorts in collaboration with Shikima Hinds and Kimberley Dunkley Watkins .

A scrumptious four-course meal ensued consisting of butternut squash soup, smoked marlin carpaccio, a choice of pink roasted beef tenderloin and garlic lobster or vegan beet and gungo pea cake, finished with a decadently rich Blue Mountain Coffee rum cake.

Smooth Vibrations featuring Christina Kerr set an upbeat vibe for the night performing classic island jams and memorable throwbacks.
