Dominque and Kyle celebrated their timeless love with a simple and sophisticated 1970s inspired engagement session, featured in Issue 33!

Dominique and Kyle’s timeless love began as high school sweethearts. During Kyle’s first semester of college and Dominique’s senior year of high school, they made their relationship official.

To keep the proposal a surprise, Kyle planned an unsuspecting date night after Dominique finished her shift at work. After they had dinner, Kyle suggested that they take a walk. Dominique was surprised when they ran into her friends and family, but as Kyle led Dominique down a walkway, everything became clear.

There were flowers, candles, and balloon arches, and in the middle, it stated “Will you marry me?” And of course, I said “YES!”.

How did you meet?

In High School. We’re basically high school sweethearts. During my senior year and his first semester of college, we made it official.

Tell us about the proposal.

Kyle decided to plan a date night after I got off of work. We live in North Augusta, and there’s an area called Hammonds Ferry where there are restaurants as well. Kyle then told me we were going on a walk after dinner and surprisingly the place where we walked we were greeted by friends and family. Kyle then led me down the walkway and there were flowers, candles, and balloon arches, and in the middle, it stated “Will you marry me?” And of course, I said “YES!”.

Describe your engagement session. Did it have a theme?

1970s theme, old-fashioned car with an open background. Simple but sophisticated.

What did you do on your first date?

We played mini golf against each other, where he claims he beat me lol.

What are your favorite things to do as a couple?

Sitting outside on our lovely porch enjoying each other’s company, cooking, traveling, and trying new things.

How has wedding planning been so far?

Steady but easy so far! Everything was very front-loaded but is now smooth sailing.

What are you looking forward to most on your wedding day?

The union where we will finally become one! And of course to see all the planning we have done come into play on our special day!
