This calls for a celebration! Empire stars Grace Gealey and Trai Byers have reportedly gotten engaged. According to US Weekly, Byers proposed to Gealey on her 31st birthday, Sunday, July 26. “He popped the question and she was totally surprised and elated. She can’t stop looking at the ring! They celebrated all night,” a source tells US Weekly. The gorgeous couple had been openly dating since about March. Though neither of the stars have announced the engagement, they both took to Instagram to share photos of the celebratory night.
“Had so much fun celebrating @gracegealey’s life!! Happy Birthday to an exquisite human being! Thank you @kinmontchicago for hosting us. Amazing spot, wonderful food, UNFORGETTABLE night,” Byers captioned the photo collage he posted Monday, July 27.
Gealey took to her Instagram to share her gratitude for all the wonderful birthday wishes. And though she was mum on her engagement, we can’t miss the silhouette of the ring on her left hand!
Byers also celebrated his 32nd birthday a week prior with Gealey and his Empire wife Kaitlin Doubleday. Congrats to the beautiful couple, we can’t wait to see the wedding!
