Many brides can remember every detail of the life changing day when their significant other popped the question. However, when Marcus proposed to Jazmyn, he decided create life long memories by hiring a photographer to capture it all. Jazmyn recalls, “Marcus had been planning the proposal for about three months. He told me we had a surprise planned and dropped me off at a coffee shop in Georgetown. About 10 minutes later, an Uber arrived to take me to Dumbarton Oaks. I followed the turn by turn directions he had provided and found him standing alone, ready to profess his love and get down on one knee. He had a photographer present to capture the moment so that we could share it with friends and family and remember it forever. It was perfect.”
Kanayo Adibe beautifully captured the looks of joy on the couple’s faces during their gorgeous garden proposal. Immediately afterward the couple had a romantic engagement session in the park. These photos are sure to bring a tear to your eye and a smile to your face!!
Bride to be: Jazmyn Singleton- MBA Student Groom to be: Marcus Williams- Consultant Engagement Shoot Location: Dumbarton Oaks – Washington, DC Wedding Date: 06/11/2016 Wedding Location: Denver, COHow They Met
We met in February 2011 through match.com. Marcus had recently moved to the DC area and traveled often for work, I was tired of seeing the same people over and over in the DC social scene.
Their First Date
Our first date, in April of 2011, was lunch at Busboys and Poets on U St. in DC. We both walked from our offices, not expecting to meet our future life partner. I still remember what I wore, how my nails were painted, and what I ordered.
The Engagement Session
The session took place immediately after the proposal so we just went with the flow, using the amazing scenery of the gardens as a backdrop for our love. The garden has so many unique features, so the three of us had fun creating different shots.
Favorite Thing to Do as a Couple
We love to cook together. Sometimes we even pretend we have our own cooking show for millennials.
Wedding Planning
We haven’t started yet, but we have lots of ideas to make our wedding a fun event that really reflects our style.
Looking Forward to the Wedding
Celebrating love with the people we care about – and dancing!
