Tell us about how you met and all about the proposal. We were introduced by mutual friends on our way to an haunted house on Halloween night in 2004. Jacques proposed to me on my birthday December 2, 2016. Jacques had a cake for me at midnight and instead of “Happy Birthday” it said “Will you marry me?”
Describe your engagement session. We wanted something elegant and romantic. We picked Old Westbury Gardens because the grounds and estate provided the elegance and romance that we were looking for.
What did you do on your first date? We went out to dinner at Applebee’s on our first date lol.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple? We enjoy traveling, going to the movies, watching movies at home, and spending time with our family and friends.
How has wedding planning been so far? So far, wedding planning has been rather smooth. We are planning a small wedding in Jamaica. We want our wedding to be beachy yet elegant at the same time.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day. I’m Jamaican and Jacques is Haitian so we are looking forward to incorporating both cultures and having a multicultural experience for our family and friends.
