Two months into their freshman year at Fort Valley State University, Ashley and Larry united. The collegiate neophytes felt a connection that would keep them inseparable. For seven years they remained in a relationship rooted in friendship and nourished by unwavering love. The couple’s engagement session was one of natural beauty. Tell us all about the proposal!
Larry being the respectable gentleman that he is, asked Ashley’s family if they would give him their blessing to have Ashley’s hand in marriage. With the proper guidance Larry received from Ashley’s family, Larry surprised Ashley with a magnificent proposal. On December 26, 2014, Larry and Ashley got dressed to go celebrate Ashley’s 26th birthday. Larry decided to go the extra mile and got as sharp as a GQ model. Larry knew that soon, he would present to Ashley the best birthday gift she could ever dream of. Larry made dinner reservations at a restaurant Ashley had been dying to try. Once the restaurant began to clear out, Larry built up the nerve to proceed with his plan. Larry informed Ashley that he would return and walked away from the table. When Larry returned to the table, he had the waiter with him. Larry asked the waiter if he would record the happiest moment of his life. Larry got down on bended knee and asked Ashley if she would be with him for the rest of their lives! Enthusiastically, Ashley responded with “OF COURSE”!
What did you do on your first date?
We met in college, we were teenagers of course. Our first date was to Zaxby’s and then the movies to see Mirrors, a horror film. We double dated with mutual friends, it was a lot of fun.
What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple?
We love to shop, go to the movies, travel, take pictures, and go out to eat. We are definitely foodies!
How has wedding planning been so far?
Honestly, in the beginning wedding planning was rough because I was away in Miami for a job. Now that I am back in Atlanta and we’ve booked our venue, plans have been falling into place.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day.
I have waited for this moment all of my life. I am marrying the man of my dreams. I am looking forward to officially being Mrs. Lewis. I am also looking forward to having all of our family and friends together to celebrate our union. I am ready for the best day of my life!
