How did you meet? It all began the day I walked inside Wells Fargo Bank as a new teller! Roderick, an already established teller, couldn’t help noticing my smile and style. While working there for a few months we definitely showed interest in each other. Unfortunately, I ended up moving to Cypress, TX and we eventually lost contact. Two years later I sent him a friend request on Instagram and from that moment Roderick literally couldn’t resist. He asked me to go on a date and I agreed. Which was one of the best decisions we could have ever made!

Tell us your proposal story. Roderick told me his job provided him with the “latest” Apple iPhone to run a few tests before they release it to the public. He promised me that I could have the phone once he was finished. We also had just moved in together, so we invited our parents and siblings over to view our new place. While everyone was walking around and looking at our home he said, “Here goes the new iPhone.” I was so excited (who doesn’t love a new Apple product). As I’m opening this box I noticed everyone suddenly begin to stare at me and of course I got nervous. I looked back at him to find him on one knee and I instantly starting crying like a baby! Then he pulled out the most gorgeous ring ever! And of course, I begin to cry AGAIN! I will never forget that moment.

Describe your engagement session. It was so much fun! We practiced silly posses around the house to make sure we wouldn’t get nervous in front of the camera. We wanted to be show our fun side while being elegant.

What did you do on your first date? He took me to one of his favorite restaurants called Chi and then we took a walk in the park.

What’s your favorite thing to do as a couple? We are big foodies so our favorite thing to do is try different restaurants. We also love comedy shows, family gatherings, and watching the Houston Rockets.

How has wedding planning been so far? Wedding planning is equally stressful as it is exciting. We’re blessed to have a strong village to guide us during this journey!
