Wedding Hair: The Faux Hawk

You know what they say… “The higher the hair, the closer to God,” and every bride wants to look angelic on her wedding day. If you are not afraid to take your hair to the max on your big day, why not rock a “faux hawk.”  A faux hawk  or “fohawk” copies the style of a mohawk, but without shaving the sides of the head. You simply brush, cornrow or flat twist the sides of your hair to the middle to replicate the look of a mohawk. Not sure if this look is for you! Well take a look at the fabulous real brides below who have worn this style.  They owned their look with confidence and were absolutely ravishing on their big day. Plus we have a Youtube tutorial at the end of this post to show you how easy it is to achieve a faux hawk for your wedding or any special occasion. Let the fabulousness begin!

Lockell’s lovely wedding do was perfected by Ursula of Mahogany Hair Revolution.  She created a faux hawk look by braiding cornrows up the side of her hair and straw setting the hair along the middle.  This is a great why to rock a faux hawk if you have natural or permed hair. Love it :). Though I usually wear my hair natural I straightened it for my wedding day. When I renew my vows I plan to embrace my curls. Very inspiring :)
