A Vibrant Nigerian Wedding in Raleigh, NC

When Darryl proposed to Adeola, he treated her to a day of pampering.  Their morning started with a delicious breakfast and ended with Darryl renting out their favorite restaurant for a private dinner, at which he proposed among rose petals and romantic music!

Their wedding was just as breathtaking and perfectly planned.  The couple had two ceremonies. On Friday, they celebrated Adeola’s Nigerian roots with a traditional engagement ceremony. Their photographers, Vesic Photography, shared, “Friday the event was interactive and jubilant, and included a show of elder respect with a touching of feet… Keep an eye out for the letter exchanged between Adeola’s parents to Darryl’s parent in consent of the wedding, which is held up for all to see in the brass and glass encasement.” Saturday, the couple had a more traditional Western wedding, which incorporated Darryl’s Liberian and American background.  Adeola was stunning in an amazing custom wedding gown, and the couple’s classic red and black color scheme and Art Deco stationery created a classic ambiance for their reception.  We wish this couple all the best!

How They Met/ The Proposal

We first met in 2000 via my sister. The proposal was a day of pampering and relaxation. I began with breakfast at Adeola’s favorite breakfast spot, The Flying Biscuit, followed by a cup of coffee and great conversation at Panera Bread. Next was manicure time. I wanted her nails to look perfect since she would have a ring on shortly. After her manicure and pedicure, I set up a full body massage. Once she was done, she called me to pick her up and outside she was met by a personal driver and a red carpet. From there it was a short ride to our favorite restaurant that I shut down for a private evening. The restaurant set up was amazing: I had flowers, rose petals, music and a 4 course meal. After all the wining and dining, I dropped down on one knee to propose and she said YES!
