A Modern and Elegant Art Museum Wedding in Austin, Texas

Tamra Cobbins never knew that her blog post on the challenges of being a young, single Christian woman would lead her to love.  Robert Gibson met Tamra while attending a campus ministry conference, but it wasn’t until he read Tamra’s blog and thanked her for her transparency that they connected on a deeper level.

Robert and Tamra’s nuptials were a true reflection of their love for each other and their religion. They were very intentional about creating an “atmosphere of worship” by incorporating prayer throughout their ceremony.  The Blanton Museum of Art in Austin, Texas was the perfect venue for their décor aesthetic which they described as “simple, modern and elegant.” White linens and flowers, with pops of peach and gold accents created a vibrant and refreshing ambiance. Still-Life Media beautifully photographed all of the exquisite details and special moments of gorgeous Spring wedding!

How They Met

Robert and I met while attending a campus ministry conference in Durham, North Carolina, we were introduced by a good friend of mine and decided to exchange information. Our initial meeting didn’t produce anything romantic; however, we were reconnected in 2010 after Robert read a blog that I wrote (and posted on FB) about the challenges that come with being a young, single Christian woman. Robert reached out to express his appreciation for my transparency after four hours on the phone we both knew that this was the start of something very special… the rest is history.

Wedding Style

I would describe my wedding dress as very simple with a touch of flair, I would say that my bouquet was the perfect accessory to my dress.

Incorporation of Culture

We were very intentional about creating an atmosphere of worship at our wedding, we did so by incorporating live music and corporate prayer during various parts of the ceremony. Our faith is the most important thing in our lives and we wanted our guests to experience the love that we share for each other and for Christ.

Most Memorable Moment

Dancing with friends and family at the reception! We wobbled, Nay Nay’d and cupid shuffled until our feet hurt! Lol

Wedding Advice

Remember that the marriage is far more important than the wedding ceremony, when you keep that in mind your wont get distracted or discouraged by people’s expectations or plans for YOUR wedding! :).
