Darrinisha and Je Gales tied the knot at their luxurious white and gold wedding, complete with gorgeous decor from the couple’s new business venture!

Darrinisha and Je met through Darrinisha’s mother. Je made his intentions clear, but Darrinisha wanted to focus on her education so Je waited until she was ready to pursue a relationship alongside her education.

Je surprised Darrinisha with a heartfelt proposal at what she thought was her mother and father’s vow renewal.

De and Je celebrated their love at their dream wedding surrounded by family, friends, and coworkers. The bride’s grandfather officiated the marriage, making the moment that much more special.

How did you meet?

Je worked for my mother as a mental health professional. After meeting me and confirming that I was single Je began courting me. I told him I wanted to focus on my education. He waited until I was in a position to simultaneously pursue my education and a relationship.

Tell us all about the proposal

Je tricked me into believing he was planning a vow renewal for his mom. We got dressed up for the vow renewal. The vow renewal was the proposal.

Darrinisha: I had an amazing experience at Bridals By Lori in Atlanta. I told them I wanted a dress that was over the top and they delivered! I was assigned to one stylist, but the entire store assisted me. My dress was so beautiful and the train was never-ending.

Culture

At the entrance of our reception, we did the Nigerian “spray.” Our wedding party threw money on me during our entrance.

What is the best advice you can give to engaged couples?

Things will not go as planned. Be open and ready for change.
