Star Wars creator George Lucas popped the question to his long-time girlfriend Mellody Hobson, president of the successful Chicago-based investment management firm, Ariel Investments, LLC. Lucas and Hobson have been dating reportedly since 2006 and this will be Mellody’s first marriage and George’s second. This is huge news for the couple shortly after Lucas sold his Lucasfilm franchise to Disney last October and donated the profits ($4.05 billion) to an educational fund. Mellody also enjoyed business success in 2012 thanks to her job as financial contributor for Good Morning America and being the chairman for Dreamworks Animation. What a business savvy pair they make! No further details were released on their wedding day. Congratulations to George and Mellody!
