Alexis Major and Karim Butler’s wedding (featured in Issue 33) at the Park Chateau Estate and Gardens in East Brunswick, New Jersey, was a luxurious, star-studded affair!
Their love story began in the Diamond District, where fate intertwined their paths over matching broken chain locks. “We walked in with the same problem and walked out chained together from that day forward. It was love at first sight.” From that serendipitous moment, they knew they had found their perfect match.
Their wedding day was nothing short of spectacular, blending cultural traditions with timeless elegance. They honored Karim’s faith with a Muslim ceremony, followed by a grand reception infused with joy, love, and meaningful traditions. Every detail of their ethereal and opulent design reflected Alexis’s vision of cascading all-white florals, regal gold accents, and shimmering crystal elements, creating an ambiance of pure sophistication.

Alexis stunned in a custom ZUHAIR MURAD gown, a couture masterpiece brought to life after five fittings in Paris. The luxurious satin fabric, intricate embellishments, and flowing cape sleeves made her feel like royalty, matched only by her daughter’s custom gown by the same designer.
From the breathtaking chapel entrance to the gilded reception space, their vision came to life flawlessly with the help of wedding planner Betsy Jimnez of Style Your Party and florist Rema Premier Events. Even celebrity guests, including Ronald Isley, Chef Melba, and Quavo of Migos, declared it the best wedding they had ever attended. But the most cherished memory? “My daughter keeps asking if we can do it again!”

- Wedding flowers: Our wedding florals were a breathtaking symphony of all-white elegance, creating a dreamy, ethereal ambiance. From the cascading floral staircase to the grand floral arch and towering centerpieces, every detail was designed to feel luxurious and timeless. The arrangements featured lush white roses, hydrangeas, and delicate baby’s breath, complemented by soft, wispy textures and modern gold accents. The floral installations created a cloud-like effect, transforming the venue into a romantic and opulent space that felt straight out of a fairytale.
- Favorite item on the menu: We can not say what our favorite item on the menu was because we never left the dance floor. A party was had, and the guests said the food was amongst the star list of this star-studded I do’s.
- Bridesmaids/groomsmen gifts: For our bridesmaids and groomsmen, we wanted to gift them something meaningful that symbolized our appreciation and the lasting bond we share. We chose infinity bracelets, representing the theme of infinity and forever, a reminder that our connection and gratitude will always remain. It was a beautiful way to celebrate their role in our journey and the endless love and support they’ve given us.

- Advice for brides: My advice to brides is simple: don’t stress! Trust your planner, hire a great team, and just enjoy your day. Honestly, I have no idea if any mishaps happened at my wedding because it was the most perfectly curated day of my life.
Tell us how you met and all about the proposal.
Karim and I met in the Diamond District in September 2016 while both getting the locks on our chains fixed. We walked in with the same problem, a broken lock, and walked out chained together from that day forward. It was love at first sight.
How did you know they were “the one”?
We knew we were meant for each other because, as we watched each other interact with the store staff, we both had the same thought. I remember thinking, If I were a guy, that would be me. And Karim thought, She’s the female version of me, it was almost scary! From that moment, we just knew.
Did you incorporate any culture into your wedding?
Yes! Our wedding incorporated culture and tradition. We had a Muslim ceremony, followed by a traditional wedding reception where we celebrated with family and friends. It was the perfect mix of meaningful traditions and joyful festivities!

A luxurious and timeless celebration with an all-white floral aesthetic, grand architectural details, and elegant gold accents. The design was both ethereal and opulent, featuring cascading florals, crystal elements, and a romantic candlelit ambiance. From the breathtaking chapel entrance to the gilded reception space, every detail reflected sophistication, elegance, and an unforgettable experience.

Describe your wedding dress and your favorite wedding accessory.
My wedding dress was a dream come true, designed by the incredible ZUHAIR MURAD. The journey to finding ‘the one’ started in Paris, where, after five fittings, we created the perfect gown, just in time for the big day!
The luxurious satin fabric, regal silhouette, and intricate embellishments made me feel like royalty. Every detail, from the flowing cape sleeves to the stunning beaded bodice, was pure elegance.
My daughter’s custom gown, also made by ZUHAIR MURAD, was the most special touch. Seeing us both in our couture dresses, crafted with such artistry, was truly surreal. It was a moment I will cherish forever!
Luka’s favorite Wedding accessory was the watch that I got him for the Wedding: an off-the-catalog Rolex Yacht-Master Diamond dial. He was shocked as LeBron James is the only person with it, and it is very rare.
My favorite wedding accessory was my ring, of course, and the something blue Aston Martin that Karim gifted me.
What is your best memory from your wedding?
Our favorite memory from the wedding was seeing the vision we gave our wedding planner, Betsy, come to life exactly as we imagined. It was surreal to watch everything unfold so perfectly. Even Ronald Isley, Chef Melba, and Quavo from the Migos said they had been to plenty of weddings, but this was the best they had ever seen or been a part of. Betsy truly delivered!

What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples?
The best advice to engaged couples is to set a budget and make sure your planner is in love with your vision and wants to wow you, not just deliver a product. Make sure your planner has a taste level that will set your day above your wildest dreams.
