Beautiful Bayside Wedding in Maryland

The exposition of Tamika and Kenny’s love story took time to develop. They first spotted each other in highschool. However, they would not see each other for years until a chance meeting at a mutual friend’s cookout. Sparks flew, but Tamika and Kenny took their time. They fostered a deep friendship and talked for nearly five years before making their relationship official in December of 2015.

Their patience paid off. After years of committed dating, Kenny surprised Tamika with a romantic dinner proposal. Tamika set up, what she thought would be a regular date night at her favorite Oyster Bar and Grill. Unbeknownst to her, Kenny had already purchased an engagement ring. He was just waiting for it to be sized to fit Tamika’s tiny finger. He finally got the ring back the night of their date. During their dinner, the ring was burning a hole in his pocket. Kenny originally planned to propose at a weekend getaway, but he couldn’t hold off any longer. After dinner, he ordered celebratory drinks and dropped to one knee.

Their wedding was a true celebration of a love fortified by time and a deep spiritual connection. The couple made sure to pray with their bridesmaids and groomsmen before their beautiful ceremony. They went for a unique cream color scheme with complimentary pops of baby blue, and unexpected pops of red. The bay served as a mesmerizing backdrop for this captivating wedding, captured by our MunaLuchi Coterie member Chip Dizard of Chip Dizard Studios.  See all of the details below.

Wedding Style

The dress shopping experience was relaxing. K&B Bridal Boutique made me feel at home the moment I walked in the door. The staff was very knowledgeable. We went through tons of dresses before finding the one. The dress had a deep V in the front and was low cut in the back with a laced corset. The details on the buttons on the back had me sold.

Kenny knew he wanted to stand out from the guys, and I came across a crush velvet blazer while browsing my “Express” app. I showed him the blazer, and it was love at first sight.

Incorporation of Culture

Instead of gift exchange and first look, the groomsmen prayed with Tamika right before the ceremony, and the bridesmaids prayed with Kenny.
