Chic Gold and Black Chanel Inspired Wedding in Atlanta

Kimberly Williams and Gary Clayton had a couture Valentine’s Day weekend wedding  inspired by the fashion powerhouse Chanel. This stylish couple honored Kimberly’s late mother who was a buyer for Chanel by incorporating white lions into the couple’s monogram. Their chic black, white and gold color scheme with crystal accents was gorgeously infused in all of their decor by Michelle Gainey of Lemiga Events.  Michelle shares, “Kimberly wore a champagne hued gown and of course Chanel heels! She carried an elegant rose and orchid cascading bouquet. The couple exchanged vows flanked by black columns with cascading gold and white paper flowers. They sealed their love letters to each other during a wine box ceremony in a custom monogram wooden box made by the stationer Papered Wonders. As the couple was pronounced and recessed down the aisle, guests tossed gold confetti.” The couple’s reception space was the personification of luxury with Chanel Perfume bottles, black and gold sequin linens and chic arrangements of white hydrangeas, phalaenopsis orchids and roses covering their tables.  After the couple said goodbye to their guests, they shared one last dance alone in the ballroom before heading up to their honeymoon suite. This beautiful and intimate winter wedding was masterfully photographed by Janet Howard Studio.

Wedding Theme
We  had a clear ideal in mind for our wedding day.  We envisioned a celebration that was intimate, completely original and full of love .  The theme was Chic with Classic Chanel we wanted to capture the romance of being in love .  I knew I wanted  a sophisticated palette of gold, cream, champage and black. Black  was a play on the little  black dress from CoCo Chanel so all the  guest where ask to dress in black.  I wanted to incorporate my childhood memories of my mother who is deceased in a fun way. She called me her little white lion so I customized a monogram into our wedding theme the monogram made an appearance throughout the entire event , showing up on the invitations, my runner and the cake. I knew I wanted to work with Michelle Gainey with Lemiga Events. Michelle took my dream wedding  with her vision and creating a intimate spectacular event . Michelle exceeded all expectations and gave us a wedding surpassing our dreams. With one visit to the St. Regis we knew it was perfect.  The hotel was luxurious with classic decor it was beautiful we knew our vision could come to life at the St. Regis.
Most Memorable Moment
Gary’s favorite moment was the moment we said I do; for me it was our first dance “You’re All I Need to Get By.”   I lived in the moment nothing compares to being surrounded by all of your family and friends.
Wedding Advice
My only regret was that I did not change dresses for my reception. No matter how much you plan,  there will always be a hiccup but just don’t forget that it’s about you and him and it’s your day!  So enjoy it!

I am Kimberly’s aunt and was there to experience the setting personally. As beautiful as everything was the atmosphere and the love between the two of them was truly memorable.
The piano player during the interludes was exceptional. The food outstanding and the guests were having a grand ole time. Kudos also to Kim’s sister Des’iree who helped to make everything a success. Their late mother was a showstopper who would have been extremely proud of that day.

The bride was stunning! I loved the theme, colors, venue and decor. I especially liked all of the details from the monogrammed aisle runner, the crystals in the bouquet and diamond band around the cake, everything was so elegant and beautiful. The pictures captured the essence of every aspect of the ceremony and did you see those shoes? There were so many great ideas that I could get married all over again. Congratulations to the happy couple. I hope your life together is as beautiful as your wedding.

  7. Desire'e Sister of the Bride says:

Wow! My sister was such a Beautiful Blushing Bride and our Mother would have been so elated. Kimberly had been dreaming about her wedding day for a long time, however I don’t think she would have ever imaged it would be as elegant and beautiful as it was. I’m sure if far exceeded her dreams. She was very original in incorporating Our Mother’s presence as a part of the ceremony, it was so beautiful we couldn’t even be sad. Even though I gave her grief over all that she was planning, on that day I couldn’t have been more excited and proud of her. I was stunned at the whole event! It was Elegance at it’s Best! We were both so thankful for all of our Family and Friends from New Jersey that traveled so far to be with us especially after just losing Our Father. It meant the world to us to have our Grandmother, the Matriarch present looking Gracefully Refined and we know that Our Parents would have been so proud of Our Uncle Dwayne for walking Kimberly down the isle. It was an Impressive and Elegant Occasion.

  8. Liz says:
