Tell us how you met and all about the proposal. Monica and Shodre met online. The proposal was Thanksgiving Day, 2015. Monica’s family went on a cruise for Thanksgiving. Shodre proposed, out of the blue, before a comedy show on the ship, in front of Monica’s family. She was speechless.

Describe your wedding dress: Dress of my dreams. Fun and whimsical, but still regal

What was wedding shopping like for you? Wedding dress shopping for me was amazing! I purchased my dress at Tre Bella Bridal in Durham, NC. My experience was very personalized. I was the only person there during my dress appointment, so I felt extremely catered to. Every fitting appointment thereafter was the same way. I felt like a princess throughout the entire process.
What is your best memory from your wedding? My best memory from the wedding is seeing my husband for the first time on that day. It’s like time stood still.

What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples? Don’t sweat the small stuff. Things out of your control will happen. There were a few things that I noticed during the day that didn’t go exactly as I had hoped, but in the big scheme of things, the day was absolutely perfect!
