This intimate industrial wedding in Charlotte, North Carolina, features a stunning bohemian glam gown, playful banter between the bride and groom, and guests from around the globe!
Nigel & Bree decided to return to the location of their proposal spot to tie the knot! The historic multi-purpose event space, Alchemy, was transformed in the 1950s from a warehouse/film processing lab to a mid-century artistic space highlighting the buildings original structure with modern creative touches. The chic venue includes a full-service restaurant, which is where the pair had their first dinner date. Since then, they’ve never looked back and two years later, Nigel asked Bree to be his wife!
In October 2021, the pair celebrated their love surrounded by family and friends in an intimate fall wedding. They couldn’t have imagined a more perfect or meaningful way to say I-do!

How they met…
We met at our local supermarket, Harris Teeter.
The proposal…
Nigel made dinner reservations for our 2 year dating anniversary at a new restaurant in Charlotte that we’d been wanting to try. After dinner we had a speciality cocktail and Bree suggested we take a video for instagram. At which time Nigel handed the phone to the server and secretly told them he was about to propose and asked if they would capture the moment. The rest is our story.
Their first look…
The ceremony…
Mr. & Mrs…
Wedding style…
Sleek, mermaid style dress, Bohemian glam
Shopping experience…
Pretty seamless. By leveraging the smaller items to our wedding planner, we were able to focus on the more personal purchases like attire and the details that were most important to us
Reception space & decor…
Cultural elements…
Nigel is a caucasian Brit and Bree is African-American. We found ways to make sure our cultures were both represented.
Best wedding day memories…
Looking into each other’s eyes at the altar, dancing down the aisle to Time of our Life, the reception speeches, and seeing our family and friends from all over the world together celebrating the union of our abundant love story.
Advice for other engaged couples…
To not lose sight of why you’re getting married by staying present and keeping the day sacred and solely about the 2 of you.
