Tell us how you met and all about the proposal. We met at LaShawn’s 23rd birthday party and have been inseparable since. On our 7th year together, LaShawn gathered friends and family to a restaurant in Norfolk, VA called Bryd and Baldwin. Kendra thought it was just a dinner outing with her best friend, but to her surprise LaShawn was waiting for her by the fireplace with our friends and family ready to propose. Kendra broke out in tears and attempted to run away, but she ultimately returned – LaShawn proposed and Kendra said yes!
Wedding Style: Kendra’s wedding dress was a lace, mermaid fit with a ruffled tulle skirt and train. The wedding style was romantic.
What was wedding shopping like for you? Wedding shopping for LaShawn and I was exciting and stressful. We learned a lot about each other, even after 7 years together. We learned how to really compromise, and how to both get what we wanted for our wedding day.
Wedding Party Gifts: My bridesmaids received personalized compact mirrors and personalized makeup bags with all sorts of goodies stuffed inside. My groomsmen received a personalized flask and shot glasses!

What is your best memory from your wedding? (Kendra) My best memory was walking down the aisle to meet LaShawn. Although, the room was filled with guests, I didn’t see anyone but LaShawn. (LaShawn) My best memory was reading my vows and the dancing.
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples? (Kendra) Always take a moment with each other while wedding planning, it can be very stressful but remember why you decided to marry. (LaShawn)Understand the other persons point of view even if you don’t agree. Communicate and always date each other.
