High school sweethearts Niya and Jawon took their love to new heights with an opulent Atlanta wedding that ended with a private helicopter ride overlooking the city.
The pair, who first met as teenagers, began planning the luxurious affair shortly after Jawon surprised Niya with a proposal during an outing in Philadelphia. While Niya thought they were going to meet an associate of Jawon’s for dinner, Jawon had actually prepared an elaborate surprise proposal in a nearby park, complete with rose petals and a “Marry Me” sign.
On the day of the wedding, the couple exchanged private vows and had a first touch ahead of the ceremony, creating unforgettable memories before the festivities even started.
They then joined their guests for the ceremony, which took place on an outdoor patio decorated with elegant white florals and a stunning city view. With a DJ, fire dancer, cigar roller, and saxophonist, the reception was filled with entertainment, offering the couple the perfect chance to celebrate their happiness with their closest friends and family. Ending the night on an extravagant note, the couple made their grand exit via a romantic helicopter ride over the city.

The Proposal…
The groom surprised Niya with a garden proposal in a park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The bride was under the impression they would meet the groom’s business associate over dinner, but had no idea that she was in for the surprise of a lifetime!
As the couple left the parking garage, Jawon suggested they cut through a park for speedier access to the designated restaurant. As they turned the corner, Niya saw rose petals and immediately burst into tears. There was a photographer and a “Marry Me” sign to top off the moment. Jawon proposed on one knee, with Niya’s dream ring, expressing his love for his wife since the day that they met. The wedding planning started soon after!

Their Wedding Style…
After visiting bridal shops across three different states, the bride found her dream dress—a form-fitting, lacy gown by Dana Harel. The groom opted for a white tux to complement her look.

The Best Memories…
Between Niya’s maternal grandmother taking on the role of “flower granny,” the private vows that the couple shared before their ceremony, and the saxophonist, fire dancer, and cigar roller who made appearances at the reception, there were several moments that made the couple’s big day so special.

But if there’s one memory that soars above the rest for the couple, it’s their grand exit on a helicopter ride overlooking the city.
Since the couple promised to take over the world together, the ride was symbolic of them reaching new heights.

Advice From the Couple…
Go to premarital counseling! Also, less is more; the most memorable moments of your big day are usually free but priceless! Your wedding day is a celebration before the marathon, all the fun starts the day after “I do.”
