Fellas, if you were ever hesitant about sliding in her inbox, don’t be— she might be your wife!”

– Xavier (The Groom)

In 2013, after Dominique made a Facebook post about her love for men with beards, Xavier took that as his opportunity to shoot his shot. He messaged her, they DM’d back and forth, and eventually exchanged numbers. The two officially met on the red carpet at the 2013 COGIC Holy Convocation and hit it off. So well, in fact, that Dominique actually friend-zoned Xavier and ghosted him. But this didn’t deter him. Xavier admits, “Without a doubt, I knew Dominique Moore would be my wife.”

They remained friends and by 2017, the pair started talking every day. They actually became BEST friends, which they both value and believe is paramount in a successful relationship. In 2019, Xavier officially asked Dominique to be his girlfriend and of course, she said yes! In November 2020, he proposed on the rooftop of the Exchange Building in Memphis, TN.

Ultimately, while their journey to the aisle has not always been perfect or easy, they describe their Faith-driven relationship as a “Redefining Love.” Their luxurious nuptials at the Halloran Centre at the Orpheum of Memphis, Tennessee, paid tribute to their love story as a “Night at the Oscars” themed wedding with all black, black tie attire, and decor featuring pops of black, gold, white, emerald green, and hints of rose gold. Other highlights include a sweet first look, a snow machine for a subtle wonderland theme, and a horse and carriage exit!

How did you meet?

Our story is a classic story of the power of social media! In early 2013, Dominique made a Facebook post about her love for men with beards and Xavier took that as the perfect opportunity to make his move.

He sent her a message, they chatted for a while, and soon after exchanged phone numbers. In November of 2013, Dominique and Xavier met for the first time on the red carpet at the 2013 COGIC Holy Convocation. Once they officially met on the red carpet they instantly became friends!

From “friend-zone” to forever…

So much so, that Dominique friend-zoned him and got into another relationship and “ghosted” him all together. However, Xavier remained persistent and didn’t give up, because he knew without question, that Dominique Moore was his wife.

They continued their friendship and grew closer together. In 2017, they started talking every day- they became best friends and believed any good and successful relationship had to be built on friendship. By 2019, Xavier officially asked Dominique to be his girlfriend and she said yes

Dominique and Xavier have defined their journey as a “Redefining Love.” It has not always been perfect or easy, but they remembered to keep God first and remember that this is His doing! They have taken time to grow and learn and use each day to be better than the day before. Welcome to OUR redefining love. “
