Paula and Andrew Brown chose “Georgia” by Ray Charles for their first dance. Fitting since Georgia is where the two met, Mercer University to be precise. Paula was studying for her Master’s and Andrew was teaching.

The Proposal:

“Drew surprised me with a spontaneous road trip back to GA. He took me to a park that we stumbled across while dating. With my eyes closed he sat me down on a rock in the middle of the lake and proposed.”

Wedding Date: May 17, 2014

Wedding Style:

“My wedding dress was a sweetheart neckline with a diamond jewel in the middle of the bodice. The dropped waist hugged my hips and flowed into an A line full skirt with scattered lace applique. There was a lace up back closure and a semi cathedral train.”

Paula’s favorite wedding accessory? Her wedding shoes from Betsey Johnson’s Something Blue line. “The ivory peep toe high heel had a big rhinestone bow over the toe and the soles were baby blue to give me my something blue.”

Wedding Theme:

Set in downtown Greensboro, NC in a two story ballroom at Elm Street Center: The Regency Room with huge crystal chandeliers as well as gold and purple as the colors throughout the day, the wedding went with an elegant theme.

Bride’s Best Wedding Memory:

The best memory from my wedding was walking down the aisle to my soon to be husband. As I walked down the aisle with my father by my side I saw my soon to be husband’s eyes glistening and I could tell he was fighting back tears. I was surrounded on both sides by family and friends and the moment was PERFECT and surreal! I was marrying my soul mate!
