When your husband is a fashion designer, the styling and planning of your wedding can become a glamorous DIY event. Corey designed the bridesmaids dresses and groomsmens suits for their big day. Michaun had her wedding gown custom made to suit her figure and style. With an elegant color palette – champagne, grey, and peach, Corey and Michaun’s wedding style definitely had the red carpet effect. This was an effortless wedding. We quickly decided on an old Hollywood glamour theme. Since Corey is a designer, we quickly decided to have him make the bridesmaid dresses. He also wanted to have his groomsmen keep their suits for the wedding. The men ended up in beautiful custom suits.
I actually looked online at red carpet events to get inspired for my wedding gown. I looked at actresses with similar body types and found a pic of a Elie Saab gown on Halle Berry in red. This was my gown! I had the shape and style of the gown made to my proportions with a few twists. Because it was custom made, I chose a champagne color.
Brides: don’t confuse yourself trying on 50 gowns. Find out what looks best on your shape first. Then decide the style: vintage, modern, classic, etc. If you can find a dressmaker and have your dress custom made, you’ll save time, and some money, trust me.
